Description [National Heritage Institute]: A family of Gypsies dressed in a port specific to the Roma. The man, immortalized by a photographer in a sitting position, wears a long-sleeved fur coat. The woman has a batik on her head and is dressed in a shirt with long sleeves and skirt. She holds a baby in her arms and nurses her. Between the two adults in the back there is a boy leaning against a bat, dressed in a long-sleeved shirt, torn at the bottom and a fur vest. Workshop photo having a backdrop background; pasted on a passe-partout showing marks of the bottom (more pronounced) and upper (less visible) marks. On the back of the photo are printed the Transilvania brand of Th photographers. Glatz and C. Koller, a German ad text [translation]: “Photograph by Th. Glatz, C. Koller.” “Up to the natural size.” Reserved multiplication rights. Inventory number MCPR 2301.

Additional information: Kamilla Asboth owned during 1873-1897 the photographic workshop in Sibiu, founded by his uncle Theodor Glatz in 1854 and subsequently taken over by Carl Koller in 1871. The workshop, located in Piaţa Mare, was acquired in 1897 by Emil Fischer.
