Description [National Heritage Institute]: A pair of gypsies dressed in Roma specific costumes in front of the cottage. The woman has a batik on her head; wearing a shirt with long and wide sleeves, long and wide skirt. The man is dressed in a shirt, trousers and a wide leather belt. In the corner of his mouth he holds a pipe, and beside him, on the earth, there is a broad-brimmed hat. The man imitates the work of metalworking. On the cardboard on which the photo is pasted are mentioned: the photographer’s name – on the left [Kamilla Asbóth] and the city where the photographic workshop was located – on the right [Sibiu]. V: Workshop mark with 10 medallions; German text written in brown color: “Atelier Kamilla Asbóth. The heir of Th. Glatz. The reserved multiplication rights. Plates are retained for subsequent orders. ” Carton ordered at Lith. K. Krziwanek, Vienna. Stamp Director Emil Sigerus; Nr. Inv. MCPR 133.

Additional information: Kamilla Asboth owned during 1873-1897 the photographic workshop in Sibiu, founded by his uncle Theodor Glatz in 1854 and subsequently taken over by Carl Koller in 1871. The workshop, located in Piaţa Mare, was acquired in 1897 by Emil Fischer.
